Mr. Tusk goes to Warsaw

And yesterday's argument over Pope John Paul II, Remind us that the elections have begun once more, But will they truly bring change, or just déjà vu?
If the Civic Platform wins, it'll be a moral victory, But there'll be complete immobilization in sight, All their initiatives will be blocked by the President's authority, And the country will plunge deeper into the night.
I used to call him "Długopis" with disdain, But now it seems he doesn't even listen to PiS, Tusk won't be heard at all, that's plain, And even the Constitutional Court is acting amiss.
Ironically, we have checks and balances in place, But it's either freedom securing freedom or "rejtanizm", Or as the Americans say, "filibusterism", Or perhaps we're institutionalizing Polish political anarchism.
We're returning to something Kaczyński fought against, And he'll probably admit defeat with a sigh, But am I happy that the Civic Platform is struggling? Emotionally, maybe, but politically, it's a lie.
I'm disappointed in that party, it's true, It lobbied against the interests of my country, But I know that foot-stomping and political thinking are different, it's nothing new, And without an effective, pro-European government, we'll be left hungry.
We need a government that not only governs but also rules, One that can unlock the funds from Brussels with ease, And right now, neither Morawiecki nor Tusk can do it, it's true, So we must choose wisely or be left in the dark, feeling unease
